Warrior,
Good morning, I hope and pray that your week is going well. Today's message "Look Within" For many of us, we look at the outer appearance of people, sizing them up and forming an opinion based on what we see rather than what we hear. In my devotion today, I'm reminded of this. When YHWH sent Samuel to seek a new King over Israel to replace Saul, he sent him to Jesse who had eight sons. Samuel summoned Jesse to bring his sons before him. When he looked at Eliab, Jesse's first son, he thought, "Surely YHWH anointed is standing before me. Imagine for a moment, Eliab must have been tall, large in stature, handsome with an outward appearance of one who would demand authority and respect. But as we know it, Samuel passed up on choosing Eliab and the remaining sons that Jesse brought before him. He said to Jesse, you must have another son. Jesse responded, and said, yes I have one more who is tending to the sheep in the field. and Samuel requested Jesse to bring him before him. And we all know how it ended. David the youngest and most unlikely son of Jesse was the anointed to be selected king over Israel. I was reminded in today's devotion of how easy it is to see a person just as Samual did. He looked at the outward appearance and formed his opinion. We know that YHWH looks at the heart rather than the outward appearance, so let us strive to see others in the same way. May we look within at the heart prior to forming our opinions or passing judgement on one another. You think about that. Have a GREAT day and may you bless and encourage many along the way!
